MEGA SUPERBET - BUDUĆNOST VOLI
Where? Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall, Belgrade
When? 19:00
Story of the game: The pressure is on in Belgrade as Mega Superbet host Budućnost VOLI in Game 2 of the quarter-final series. After a commanding 96:80 win in Game 1, the Podgorica powerhouse is just one step away from punching their ticket to the semi-finals. On the other side, Mega are fighting for survival — and for a chance to rewrite a familiar underdog story from 2016, when they famously eliminated a top-seeded Budućnost VOLI in the opening round of the Playoffs.
Despite both teams missing their leading stars — McKinley Wright IV for Budućnost VOLI and Bogoljub Marković for Mega Superbet — the first game was largely one-sided. Budućnost VOLI controlled the tempo from tip-off to the final buzzer, showcasing their depth and maturity on both ends of the floor.
With home-court advantage now shifting to Mega’s favor, the young Belgrade squad will look to rally behind their fans and deliver a response strong enough to force a decisive Game 3. It still remains uncertain whether Wright or Marković will return to action for this clash, and their absence or presence could significantly shape the outcome.
Match-up in focus: Yogi Ferrell vs. Stefan Miljenović.
With McKinley Wright IV sidelined, Yogi Ferrell embraced the challenge in Game 1 and orchestrated Budućnost VOLI's offense masterfully. Ferrell scored 20 points and dished out 7 assists, setting the rhythm and keeping Mega's defense under constant pressure. His experience and poise were vital in neutralizing any signs of a Mega Superbet’s comeback.
Yet, Mega Superbet had a star of their own. Stefan Miljenović, the explosive young guard, delivered a career-best 30-point performance, racking up a jaw-dropping index rating of 44 — tying him for the 2nd highest single-game index rating in ABA League Playoffs history, alongside Zadar legend Todor Gečevski. Even in defeat, Miljenović sent a loud message that he is ready for the big stage.
Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 7:22; At Mega Superbet’s home court 6:8.
