Dubai Basketball has made a major splash on the European basketball scene with the signing of Džanan Musa, one of the continent’s most dynamic shooting guards, on a three-year contract starting with the 2025/26 season.

Musa, a native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is no stranger to the ABA League faithful. In 2018, while playing for Cedevita Zagreb, he was named the ABA League Top Prospect, showcasing his elite scoring ability and potential from a young age. That same year, his talents caught the eye of NBA scouts, leading to his selection as the 29th overall pick by the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

After returning to Europe, Musa reignited his career with a standout season at Río Breogán in Spain, where he was named Liga ACB MVP in 2022. That performance earned him a move to continental powerhouse Real Madrid, where he quickly became a key contributor. In his first year with the Spanish giants, Musa helped the team to a EuroLeague championship, averaging 14.8 points and 2.7 assists per game and earning a place on the All-EuroLeague First Team.

Musa’s return to the ABA League ecosystem, albeit indirectly, brings a full-circle moment for a player whose rise to prominence began on this very stage. His next chapter with Dubai promises to be one of the most closely watched stories in the upcoming season.
