Wendell Green Jr. is the new player of Ilirija
Ilirija will be reinforced with the addition of the 22-year old talented point guard Wendell Green Jr., who is coming to Ljubljana with a rich experience from the USA and Europe.

After a highschool career in Michigan and Indiana, Wendell Green Jr. used to play at the Eastern Kentucky and Auburn Universities. In 2003 he applied for the NBA Draft, but has not been selected. The path led himself to the G-League afterwards, where he played for the Maine Celtics.
In January 2004 he moved to Europe and has been thrilling the crowd in Novi Pazar, where he played for the OKK Novi Pazar with 20.8 points and 4.3 assists made per game. A short stop at the Dominican Republic followed, as he joined the squad of Indios and later moving to Iceland, where he won the Icelandic National Cup with Urvalsdeild Karla, as he has been averaging 23.2 points per game.
In December 2024 he has joined Bashkimi in the Kosovo League, where he has been named the player of the year.
As he signed with Ilirija, Wendell told: “I am excited to be a part of the team. I am ready to bring some excitement and more wins to the club! Let's work!”

Wendell Green Jr. je nova okrepitev Ilirije
Ekipi Ilirije se v novi sezoni pridružuje 22-letni nadarjeni organizator igre Wendell Green Jr., ki prihaja s širokimi izkušnjami iz ZDA in Evrope.
Po srednješolski karieri v Michiganu in Indiani, je Wendell igral na univerzah Eastern Kentucky in Auburn. Leta 2023 se je prijavil na NBA draft, a ni bil izbran. Pot ga je nato vodila v G-League, kjer je igral za Maine Celtics.
Januarja 2024 se je preselil v Evropo in v dresu OKK Novi Pazar navdušil z 20,8 točke in 4,3 asistence na tekmo. Sledil je krajši postanek v Dominikanski republiki pri ekipi Indios, nato pa selitev na Islandijo, kjer je z ekipo Urvalsdeild Karla osvojil islandski pokal, ob povprečju 23,2 točke na tekmo.
Decembra 2024 se je pridružil Bashkimiju v kosovski ligi, kjer je bil izbran za igralca leta.
Ob prihodu v Ilirijo je Wendell povedal: "Veseli me, da sem postal član moštva. Pripravljen sem, na navduševanje navijačev in želim si zmagovati! Gremo na delo!"
