Igokea m:tel fought hard on the road but came up just short in a 70-68 defeat to Fitness First Würzburg Baskets in a tightly contested FIBA Basketball Champions League clash. Nenad Stefanović's side stayed in the fight until the final moments, with Nighael Ceaser scoring six straight points late in the game to tie the score and give his team a chance to steal it.
Despite Igokea’s late surge, Würzburg held their nerve as Marcus Carr drove to the basket for the game-winning basket. Ceaser finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds, while Breein Tyree added 12 points in a tough shooting night. The visitors’ effort kept the game close throughout, outscoring Würzburg in the third quarter, but they were unable to convert in crunch time.
