The 2025/26 FIBA Champions League action continued today with mixed results for the regional representatives. Igokea m:tel claimed their first win of the season in front of their home fans in Laktaši, defeating Trieste 91:76, while Spartak Office Shoes suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Spanish powerhouse Gran Canaria.
After two close encounters in the opening rounds, Igokea m:tel finally found their rhythm and secured a well-deserved victory against Trieste. The hosts opened the game in spectacular fashion - storming to a 15-point lead after the first quarter. From that moment on, Igokea m:tel maintained control and never allowed the visitors to seriously threaten their advantage.
Breein Tyree was the absolute star of the night, powering Igokea’s offense with 27 points and 6 assists, setting the tone from the opening minutes.
With this result, the Laktaši squad finally get on the board in the 2025/26 FIBA Champions League standings, improving their record to 1-2 and gaining momentum for the upcoming challenges.
Meanwhile in Subotica, Spartak Office Shoes experienced their first setback of the season as they fell to Gran Canaria, one of the top contenders in this year’s competition – 83:93. Despite the loud home support and visible fighting spirit, Spartak couldn’t find a way to overturn the game.
The hosts showed great character in the second half, closing the gap several times, but Gran Canaria’s experience and depth proved decisive.
Olivier Hanlan shined once again for Spartak Office Shoes, delivering a brilliant 28-point performance. However, his effort alone wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
