Dubai Basketball and Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet both faced challenging EuroLeague fixtures on Friday, experiencing contrasting fortunes in Spain and Turkey.
Dubai Basketball showed early promise in Madrid, building a strong first-half advantage against Real Madrid. By halftime, the team led 58-44, capitalizing on sharp shooting and disciplined defense. Dwayne Bacon led the charge with 26 points, supported by McKinley Wright’s 14 and Aleksa Avramović contributing 13 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals. However, Real Madrid responded aggressively after the break, scoring the first 11 points of the second half and later opening an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter. The hosts eventually overcame the deficit to secure a 107-93 victory, leaving Dubai with a 9-10 record.
Meanwhile, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet achieved a historic milestone in Turkey, securing its first-ever away win at Anadolu Efes. After a slow start, in which Efes limited Zvezda to a single field goal in the opening 5 and a half minutes, the Serbian side responded with an 0-11 run in the first quarter and followed with a 2-20 surge in the second, establishing a lead they never relinquished. Jordan Nwora scored 24 points against his former team, while Chima Moneke added 16, with Semi Ojeleye and Ebuka Izundu contributing 11 each. Crvena Zvezda improved to 11-8, ending a nine-game losing streak at Efes, while the Turkish hosts fell to 6-13.
