Dubai Basketball have confirmed contract extensions for three key members of its inaugural squad: captain Klemen Prepelič, Latvian sharpshooter Davis Bertans and veteran Nemanja Dangubić. All three joined ahead of Dubai Basketball’s debut 2024/25 campaign and will remain part of the roster as the team continues to compete across European competitions.

Slovenian guard and team captain Klemen Prepelič has been central to Dubai’s identity since day one. With 73 appearances since debuting in the 2024/25 ABA League campaign, his leadership and consistency have driven the team’s rapid rise as he continues to lead the team in this historic period.

Davis Bertans, who arrived from the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and quickly earned the title “Latvian Laser”, has made 56 appearances for Dubai and was appointed vice-captain in recognition of his impact on and off the court. His experience at the highest level has added further credibility to the franchise.

Rounding out the trio is Serbian forward Nemanja Dangubić, who brought more than a decade of EuroLeague experience to the roster. With 60 games under his belt in Dubai colours, his composure and winning pedigree have been instrumental as the franchise establishes itself among Europe’s elite.

Together, Prepelič, Bertans and Dangubić represent the backbone of Dubai Basketball’s founding era. They were the first to represent the city in European competition, the first to lead the team to the ABA League semi-final, and the first to step onto the EuroLeague stage.
