EC: Cedevita Olimpija and U-BT Cluj-Napoca reach 2025/26 BKT EuroCup Quarter-Finals

Two teams from the AdmiralBet ABA League region secured their places in the 2025/26 BKT EuroCup Quarter-Finals as Cedevita Olimpija and U-BT Cluj-Napoca successfully passed the Eight-Finals stage on Wednesday night.

In Ljubljana, Cedevita Olimpija produced a decisive third quarter to defeat NINERS Chemnitz and move on to the next round of the competition. The Dragons found themselves in a tough position at halftime, trailing by three points after a tightly contested opening 20 minutes.

However, everything changed after the break. Cedevita Olimpija delivered a fantastic performance in the third quarter, dominating that period by 18:7 and completely turning the momentum of the game in their favor. The Ljubljana side entered the final quarter with a solid lead and then calmly controlled the remaining ten minutes, successfully defending their advantage to seal their ticket to the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile in Podgorica, the Eight-Finals clash featured two AdmiralBet ABA League teams as Budućnost VOLI hosted U-BT Cluj-Napoca. The Romanian side proved to be the stronger team on the night, claiming a convincing 100:82 road victory.

U-BT Cluj-Napoca controlled most of the match and already created a 14-point cushion in the first half, setting the tone early. Budućnost VOLI attempted to mount a comeback in the second half and even managed to cut the deficit down to five points in the fourth quarter, threatening to turn the game around.

Still, the visitors responded quickly. U-BT Cluj-Napoca hit several key shots down the stretch to stop the hosts’ momentum and quickly restored a double-digit lead, closing the game comfortably and securing their place in the next stage.

In the 2025/26 BKT EuroCup Quarter-Finals, Cedevita Olimpija will face JL Bourg on the road, while U-BT Cluj-Napoca will travel to play Bahcesehir College.
