Story of the game: In the opening game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Top 8 Round 6, Dubai Basketball will be hosting Cedevita Olimpija at home in their Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai in what will be an extremely important game for both sides.

It’s a game, where Dubai Basketball need a win not only to get their revenge over Cedevita Olimpija for the Round 2 defeat in Stožice Arena (93:80), but also to keep chasing the top of the standings, after they have fallen behind Partizan Mozzart Bet by a win following the Round 5. They are now on an 18:3 record, while Partizan Mozzart Bet are on a 19:2 record, with 3 rounds to go. On the other side, Cedevita Olimpija wish to repeat last season’s success when they celebrated their win in Coca-Cola Arena, not only for their personal pleasure, but also due to the fact that a win secures themselves a spot in the 2025/26 AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs. They are currently on a 12:9 record, three wins in front of the last-placed Bosna BH Telecom and Igokea m:tel and a win locks them a position amongst the best eight teams of the season.

Both teams have been defeated last round, however, while Dubai Basketball lost their last game, but have prevailed over their opponents in 3 of their last 5 games, Cedevita Olimpija are entering the game after a streak of 4 consecutive defeats. The last team that the Dragons have beaten this season has been – Dubai Basketball.

Can they do it again or will the Dubai side get their sweet revenge?

Match-up in focus: Perhaps the most interesting match-up to watch is the one between Dwayne Bacon and DJ Stewart. While Bacon has been leading Dubai Basketball so far this season in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game, Stewart has been the third-leading scorer and passer of Cedevita Olimpija, as well as second-leading rebounder, with an average of 13 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists made per game.

Head-to-head score in ABA: In total 3:3, In Dubai 2:1.
