U19 Crvena zvezda have advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 2025/26 U19 ABA League Final Tournament, after defeating U19 SC Derby 82:78 in what has been the most thrilling and closely contested game of the tournament so far.
From the opening tip, it was clear that neither side would give an inch. The teams traded baskets throughout the first three quarters, with no one managing to create a significant gap, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
The decisive stretch came midway through the fourth quarter. U19 SC Derby were holding a narrow lead - 67:66 - and seemed to have the momentum. However, that’s when U19 Crvena zvezda stepped up and delivered a crucial 10:0 run, flipping the game in their favor and building a 76:67 advantage.
SC Derby refused to back down. The Podgorica side pushed until the very end, cutting the deficit to just 2 points - 80:78 - with 5 seconds remaining, keeping their hopes alive.
But in the final moments, Ognjen Simjanovski kept his composure at the free-throw line, knocking down both shots to seal the win and set the final score at 82:78.
