Triumphs for BiH, Montenegro and Slovenia
Saturday, 3. September 2016 at 22:31

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia have grabbed new wins in the EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers. On the other hand, Macedonia suffered the first defeat.

Slovenia have secured themselves the second EuroBasket 2017 Qualifiers victory and they have done it by beating Bulgaria on the road in Botevgrad. Igor Kokoškov's men have gone off to a flying start and took an early 13-point lead after first quarter, but the hosts fought back and returned into the game in the second quarter, when they have cut the deficit to 3.

It was a close game until the end, when the scoreboard has shown the result 83:78. Former Union Olimpija member and current NBA superstar Goran Dragić led the way in scoring for Slovenia with 20 points, while former Krka and Partizan NIS member Edo Murić added 19.

Montenegro shined on the road at their neighbours Albania in Tirana and did not have mercy for their hosts, since they have demonstrated class from the very beginning of the game and scored no less than 73 points by half time, leading by 41 points at that time. In the second part of the game, they have only cruised to the comfortable victory and won with the final score of 113:73 in the end. Former Budućnost VOLI center Nikola Vučević had 19 points on his stats in the end, while another former Budućnost big man Bojan Dubljević scored 16.

Bosnia and Herzegovina did not literally shine in the home game against Sweden, but what is the most important fact is the fact that they have gotten away with a victory. It was close until the very end and the final score was 74:71 in favour of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Macedonia had a rough ride on the road in London against Great Britain. In a game, which was mainly controlled by the hosts, Macedonians suffered the first defeat of the qualifiers with the final score of 96:79.
