Game recap: Just like encounters of those two rivals always are, the game of Partizan NIS and Union Olimpija in the fifth round of the ABA League season was unbelievably exciting. The last time those two teams met – in the previous season – they needed four overtimes to decide the winner, while this time they only needed one. Partizan NIS

Key moments: First, it was Đorđe Majstorović, who tied the game after 40 minutes, whilst missing the free throw for the black and white victory after regular time and then the overtime was coming up. Just when it looked like Union Olimpija would grab the two points on the road, it was young gun Vanja Marinković who stepped up and scored the game-winning three pointer with six seconds left on the clock in the first overtime for the home side. Brandon Jefferson and Devin Oliver tried on the other end to turn the game around in the dying seconds of the overtime, but they were not successful.

Check out Vanja Marinković's game winning shot:

Man of the match: Even though he was not statistically the most efficient player neither of the game, nor of Partizan NIS, we chose Vanja Marinković to be the man of the match. The reason, besides solid stats (12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, valuation of 16), is of course the game winner, that gave his team new pair of points.

Can' trick the stats: Of course the teams were close one to another in almost every statistical category. It could not be any different way, when one team wins by a single point of margin. However, the thing that pushed the black and white over the guests this time was their excellent 2-point field goal execution. They scored 21 of 33 attempts (64%) in comparison with Union Olimpija’s 21:43 (49%).
