Game recap: MZT Skopje Aerodrom have grabbed their first pair of points in the ABA League this season. In the match of the sixth round they have beaten their local rivals Karpoš Sokoli at home in Jane Sandanski Arena and they did it after a major comeback from being 17 points behind in the opening quarter. This result puts Karpoš Sokoli at the very bottom of the ABA League standings after six rounds, since they remain the only winless team. MZT Skopje Aerodrom now own one more than them.
Key moments: Karpoš Sokoli were already in front by 17 points in the 8th minute of the game, but midway through the 3rd quarter their advantage was already gone. The last time the guests were in front was 32nd minute, when they led 50:48, but then let the hosts to create a 13:3 run over the next 4 minutes, and take a 51:53 lead in the 36th minute. This was a decisive couple of minutes, when MZT Skopje Aerodrom have decided the game in their favour, since they never let go of the lead anymore until the end.
In the final seconds, Karpoš Sokoli did have an opportunity to win the game in the final offensive possession or at least to tie it, but first Dragan Zeković missed the attempt for the overtime and finally Zoran Vrkić turned the ball over. On the other side, Stefan Sinovec just confirmed the win with a free throw scored.
Man of the match: Even though he had to leave the court too early due to an injury, Charlon Kloof was still the key player of MZT Skopje Aerodrom. When his team were down by 17 it was him who pushed them forward with attractive plays and in the end of the game, he was the top scorer (14 points) and top rebounder (8 rebounds) of his team. He added 5 assists to complete the game high valuation of 18. He is our man of the match.
