Game recap: Budućnost VOLI have demonstrated a strong character in the opening game of the 16th round against Mega Leks at home in Morača Hall. Ilias Zouros’ squad have already been trailing by 17 points in the 11th minute of the game, but over the second and third quarters they have made a major comeback and celebrated their first win after four losses in a row. The success keeps them in a solid position in a battle for a spot in the Playoffs. On the other side, Mega Leks continue their fierce battle to avoid relegation, being only one win away from the very bottom of the standings.

Key moments: Budućnost VOLI came up with a decisive 18:8 run between 22nd and 25th minute, which converted their 3-point deficit into a 7-point lead (55:48). Besides the second quarter, when they have annulated their 15-point deficit after the first quarter, this was the key to their triumph in the end.

Man of the match: The home side was a one-man band this time. Marcus Williams was the old Marcus that we know very well – he was scoring, passing and making Budućnost VOLI look good in every way. He ended the game with 22 points, 9 assists, 1 rebound and a steal and a valuation of 24. However, the most important is that his team have created themselves 24 (!?) points of advantage during 28 minutes that he spent on court and that he was the one to score 13 points during that decisive 18:8 run of his team! He is of course our man of the match!

Take a look at some of his beautiful plays:

Can't trick the stats: Eventhough Budućnost VOLI have been outrebounded and outassisted this time, they managed to win and the thanks go to their excellent field goal percentage. They had 53% from the field (21/36 for 2 and 7/17 for 3 points) in comparison to Mega’s 38%. This is what decided the winner in the end.
