New Crvena zvezda mts member Deon Thompson arrived in Belgrade

New Crvena zvezda mts player Deon Thompson arrived to Belgrade from Istanbul. During the day, he will undergo medical examinations and he will join his team at practices on Tuesday.

The excellent power forward spent the first part of the season at Galatasaray.

“I am excited to have signed with Zvezda. The team is currently in excellent form, with a couple of great triumphs in the Euroleague, while it is still unbeaten in the ABA League. I am happy to have become a part of such a team. The goal is to fit into the team since I do not wish to spoil what is already good,” Thompson told and then added: “The first association to Crvena zvezda is strong defense, extremely aggressive, with lots of running. I am glad that I will play this style of basketball. I believe that the team is in excellent position in order to reach the Playoffs, which is a goal. I will try to give my contribution.”

Thompson is well known to the ABA League fans, since he used to play for Olimpija of Ljubljana before. This season he averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in EuroLeague playing for Galatasaray.

Novi član Crvene zvezde mts Dion Tompson stigao u Beograd

Novi košarkaš Crvene zvezde mts Dion Tompson stigao je iz Istanbula u Beograd. Tokom dana lekarski pregledi, a prvi trening sa ekipom održaće u utorak.

Odlični krilni centar prvi deo sezone odigrao je u Galatasaraju.

"Uzbuđen sam i vrlo zadovoljan zbog dolaska u Zvezdu. Tim je trenutno u odličnoj formi, sa nekoliko velikih pobeda u Evroligi, neporažen u ABA ligi. Drago mi je što ću postati deo takve ekipe. Cilj je da se polako uklopim u tim, jer ne želim da poremetim ono što je već dobro,“ rekao je Tompson i dodao: "Prva asocijacija na Crvenu zvezdu je jaka odbrana, veoma agresivna, sa dosta trčanja. Drago mi je što ću igrati takvim stilom. Mislim da je ekipa u dobroj poziciji da se ponovo domogne plej-ofa, što i jeste cilj. Pokušaću da pomognem u tome".

Tompson je dobro poznat ljubiteljima ABA lige, pošto je u prošlosti već nosio dres Olimpije iz Ljubljane. U ovoj sezoni u proseku je postizao 4,2 poena i 2,1 skoka po utakmici u Evroligi za Galatasaraj.
