Union Olimpija wins domestic cup after 3 years of break
Union Olimpija have become the new Slovenian national cup winners and they did it for the first time after three years of break and for the 20th time in entire history. In the final, the Ljubljana squad were simply too strong for Krka.

The Dragons have been the better of the two opponents in the final since the very beginning of the clash, as Krka have never ever been in front in the regular part of the game, but Marko Luković’s three-pointer gave them the overtime. However, in the extra time, Olimpija prevailed and the final score of the game was 86:81 for the Stožice side. Nikola Janković led the way in scoring for Olimpija with 33 points and Devin Oliver added 15, while on the other side Erjon Kastrati had 17 points and Matic Rebec 14.
On their way towards the final, Union Olimpija were first better than Helios Suns in the quarterfinal series on two games with a 155:133 score on aggregate and afterwards better than Zlatorog in the semi-final with the score of 67:49.
This is the 20th Slovenian national cup trophy in entire history for Union Olimpija and the first one in the last four years.
