The tournament was opened with a magnificent display by Crvena zvezda mts, which demonstrated power against Ludwigsburg, winning by 22 points. The red and white led by 14 points at half time and just controlled the flow of the game until the final score 79:57. Zoran Paunović, Aleksa Uskoković and Vuk Đorđević led the way in scoring with 13 points for Zvezda.

Partizan NIS started the tournament in an unsuccessful fashion, as they were defeated by Stella Azzurra Rome with the final score of 72:65 in a clash that could have gone either way all until the end. Tadija Tadić was the top scorer of the black and white with 18 points, while Mateja Jovanović followed him with 16.

In the “ABA League derby”, which was also the last game of the day, Crvena zvezda mts have beaten Partizan NIS with the high margin of 85:56. It was a one-sided affair throughout the game and the high victory in the end was fully deserved. Aleksa Uskoković scored the most points for Zvezda (22), while for Partizan Stefan Adžić led the way with 12.

In group B, Mega Bemax have begun the tournament on fire, by outplaying the Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv. All things were clear after the first half, when Mega were up by 12 points, but the youngsters of the ABA League side have kept increasing their lead until the final score of 94:76. Nikola Mišković and Goga Bitadze led the way in scoring for Mega with 21 points scored each.

In the other game of the group, Spars Ziraat Bank of Sarajevo were too short against GBA Prague and the key difference also emerged in the opening half, when the Czechs were 11 points up. The final score was 54:46 in favour of Prague and Tarik Biberović was the top scorer for Spars with 14 points, while Semir Karić had 9.
