FEC: Cibona got defeated after a thriller

Cibona have finished their 2016/17 European story after being eliminated by Chalon in the Quarter-Finals of FIBA Europe Cup.

They were so close... However, at the end Cibona were simply out of luck in the clash against Chalon.

After winning the 1st leg of the FIBA Europe Cup Quarter-Finals by 87:85 in Zagreb, Cibona got defeated against Chalon in the rematch played in France by 78:83 and finished their 2016/17 European story.

The boys from Zagreb had a chance to win this duel. They were down by 78:81, they had the ball, while there were 20 seconds left to be played in the 4th quarter. Scott Reynolds took the ball, he was waiting for the final seconds of the game to start the attack. American point guard stormed inside the paint, but just when he was preparing to make a pass, he lost his balance, the ball slipped out of his hands and ended up out of bounds.

With just 3 seconds remaining on the clock, Cibona had to make a quick foul, but Chalon player John Robertson scored both free throws and made the final score - 83:78.
