Olimpija beat Rogaška in Game 1, Janković is the hero of the day

Union Olimpija defeated Rogaška on the road in Game 1 of the 2016/17 Slovenian Championship Finals. Nikola Janković made the game-winning 2-pointer at the buzzer!

Nikola Janković. He is the absolute hero of the day in Slovenia, as this player made two crucial shots that helped his Union Olimpija beat Rogaška on the road in Game 1 of the 2016/17 Slovenian Championship Finals.

With the first one he forced the overtime, while with the second one he won the match for his team.

Rogaška had this game in their hands, as they were up by 76:73 in the 4th quarter, with just 6 seconds left on the clock. However, Union Olimpija made a quick play, Mirko Mulalić passed the ball to Nikola Janković and he made a 3-pointer - 76:76!

Similar situation happened in overtime. Rogaška were once again in front, this time by 87:83, with 1 minute left on the game clock. But, Devin Oliver made a 3-pointer to reduce the gap - 87:86. Some 20 seconds later the same player got fouled and he made 1 out of 2 free throws to tie the score - 87:87.

Then Rogaška squad made a terrible mistake. With just 10 seconds remaining on the clock they lost the ball, Gregor Hrovat of Union Olimpija made a steal, he missed the shot, but Nikola Janković made the offensive rebound and scored a buzzer-beating 2-pointer - 89:87!

Game 2 is scheduled for May 19.
