Olimpija a step away from new trophy

Union Olimpija have beaten Rogaška also in the second game of the Slovenian National Championship Finals and now only one more triumph separates them from claiming their second domestic trophy of the season.

After they have previously won the Slovenian National Cup trophy this season, they are now close to repeating their success by winning the national championship. In the Finals, they are 2:0 up in the series at the moment, as they have outscored Rogaška at home court in the second game.

Even though both teams ran away a couple of times, it has really been anybody’s game until the final minute. With 25 seconds remaining Taylor Johns tied the game at 72:72. Union Olimpija had the final possession and Brandon Jefferson decided the winner with a desperate shot from the distance of 10 metres for the lead of his team with the score of 75:72. The guests did not manage to threaten their lead until the end and the final score was 75:73.

Brandon Jefferson was the top scorer of the home side with 16 points, while Nikola Janković followed him with 15.
