Playoffs set to start in Serbia

The final phase of the domestic championship is set to tip-off in the last of the ABA League countries, as the regular part of the Superleague is coming to an end in the Serbian National Championship. The semi-final pairs are already set.

All four ABA League participants of the 2016/17 season, Crvena zvezda mts, FMP, Mega Leks and Partizan NIS, have secured themselves a spot within the top four teams of the domestic championship which also means that they have sealed themselves a ticket for participation in the forthcoming season of the ABA League and that now a complete list of the teams, that will play next season at the highest level of regional basketball, is revealed. Besides the aforementioned teams, the other participants are Budućnost VOLI, Cedevita, Cibona, Igokea, Mornar, MZT Skopje Aerodrom, Union Olimpija and Zadar.

In the semi-finals of the Serbian National Championship, Crvena zvezda mts, which have taken the first place in the Superleague, will face fourth placed Mega Leks. Their series begins on Tuesday.

In the other semi-final pair, third placed FMP will be challenging Partizan NIS and their series will start on Wednesday.

Crvena zvezda mts are the ones that are defending the championship trophy from last season.
