Mornar started their 2017/18 journey

Mornar have officially started preparations for the 2017/18 season. The players gathered at the Sports Center Topolica where they had the first meeting with the coaching staff and the club management, while then they went to the local football stadium where they had the first fitness training.

These players attended the first team training: Marko Mijović, Marko Ćalić, Marko Mugoša, Boris Bakić, Radoje Vujošević and newcomers Uroš Luković and Strahinja Mićović. Nemanja Vranješ, Vukota Pavić and Emir Hadžibegović are currently with their national teams, while three American players Brandis Ross, Derek Needham and Karviar Shepherd will arrive in Bar in couple of days.

Team head coach Mihajlo Pavićević stated that nothing big can be done without the good atmoshere in the team.

"Good atmopshere is the key of success. I stay with my previous statement that our primary goal is to qualify for the ABA League Playoffs. We are chasing the Playoffs to avoid relegation. In the next season there will be 12 teams in the ABA League and most of them will firstly think of how to avoid relegation. Therefore, we will start with hard and serious work from the start. The whole season will depend on how we work during the preparation period. We will have the necessary respect toward every team, but we have to believe in ourselves and enter every game with the same goal - To win. The most important thing is to give your best in each match. If you do that, then no one will say anything to you if you lose. I hope that every player will increase his quality in comparison to the previous season."

The players were welcomed at the first training by their former head coach Đorđije Pavićević, by sports director Drago Spičanović and by Mornar vice-president Đuro Ostojić.

Košarkaši Mornara počeli pripreme

U dvorani „Topolica“ košarkaši Mornara održali su prvi sastanak pred nastupajuću sezonu, a onda su otišli na stadion „Topolica“ gdje su na atletskoj stazi imali lagani kondicioni trening. Do srijede će imati medicinske i kondicione testove.

Sastanku u dvorani „Topolica“ prisustvovali su starosjedioci Marko Mijović, Marko Ćalić, Marko Mugoša, Boris Bakić, Radoje Vujošević i novajlije Uroš Luković i Strahinja Mićović. Nemanja Vranješ, Vukota Pavić i Emir Hadžibegović imaju reprezentativnih obaveza u raznim crnogorskim selekcijama, dok trojica Amerikanaca Brendis Ros, Derik Nidam i Karvier Šepard stižu u Bar za nekoliko dana.

Mihailo Pavićević, novi šef stručnog štaba, kazao je da se bez dobre atmosfere ništa ne može napraviti.

- Zdrava i radna azmosfera su ključ uspjeha. Ostajem pri ranije navedenom cilju, a to je plasman u plej of, jer jurimo plej of da bismo izbjegli ispadanje. Ove godine u ABA ligi je samo 12 ekipa i većina će, prije svega, nastojati da izbjegne ispadanje, odnosno dvanaesto mjesto. Od početka krećemo s ozbiljnim radom. Kako odradimo pripreme,takva će nam biti i sezona. U svaku utakmicu ulazićemo s neophodnom dozom respekta prema rivalu, ali i vjerom u sebe, sa ciljem da se utakmica dobije. Glavno je da uvijek i svuda date sve od sebe i onda vam niko neće zamjeriti na eventualnom porazu. Nadam se da će svaki od vas podići nivo svoje igre u odnosu na prošlu sezonu – kazao je igračima Mihailo Pavićević.

Igračima su dobrodošlicu i uspješne pripreme poželjeli i bivši trener Đorđije Pavićević, sportski direktor Drago Spičanović i potpredsjednik kluba Đuro Ostojić.
