Game recap: Budućnost VOLI have achieved a new victory – their fifth this season in the ABA League. They have done it on the road in Tivoli, Ljubljana, against Petrol Olimpija, thanks to their excellent performance, demonstrated in second half. This triumph keeps the Podgorica squad alone at the very top of the ABA League standings, while Olimpija are one victory away from the league’s bottom with two games won so far.

Key moments: The key moments came at the beginning of the third quarter, which the guests have started with a 3-point advantage. They have opened the second half with a 10:2 run in the period of two minutes and a half, which put them ahead by double digit number of points (47:58). High-quality teams like Budućnost let go of such a lead very rarely and they did not do it this time either. The hosts did not manage to threaten their advantage anymore until the end.

Man of the match: Zoran Nikolić’s contribution to the victory of Budućnost VOLI was excellent this time. He had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 asssits, just as many blocks and a steal. Altogether this was enough for the game-high valuation of 27, which earned him the title of the man of the match.

Can't trick the stats: Petrol Olimpija were slightly better in rebounding and passing, but it turned out that the better shooting percentages were the ones that put the guests ahead. They scored 49.2% of their field goal attempts, compared to 46.2% of Petrol Olimpija.
