Game recap: There is no other way to say it than – This is ABA League! We had another spectacular game here in our competition in which FMP defeated Cibona in overtime! Therefore, the Panthers have stayed in the race for the Playoffs, while on the other side, Cibona have suffered their 5th consecutive defeat in the regular season.
Key moments: Both teams had a chance to win this match at the end of the 4th quarter. FMP guard Aleksa Radanov had 2 free-throws on 2 seconds before the end, while the score was 78:77 for Cibona. Still, he made just the second one and leveled the score at 78:78. Cibona called for a time-out, but they failed to score in the remaining time.
Cibona had a better start in the overtime, however FMP captain Filip Čović made a very difficult 3-point shot and tied the score at 83:83. After that Luka Žorić made 1 free-throw and brought Cibona back in front – 84:83, but the hero of the visiting side was Stefan Pot who made the crucial lay-up on 11 seconds before the end – 85:84 for FMP. In the final seconds of the game, Marko Tomas missed the 2-pointer.
Man of the match: Filip Čović! Not just that he had the best stats in his team with 18 points and 9 assists, but he scored 5 out of 7 points of FMP in overtime.
Can't trick the stats: If you take a look at the stats, you will not find any major difference between these two teams. At the end, that one shot made by Stefan Pot decided the winner.
