Game recap: After almost 5 years of waiting, Cibona have defeated Budućnost VOLI in ABA League! Before this match, the Wolves had lost 8 consecutive games against Podgorica side, but this evening that awful streak has ended. Cibona have therefore become only the 3rd team in this season to beat the reigning ABA League champions Budućnost VOLI.
Key moments: On 6 minutes before the end of the 3rd quarter Budućnost VOLI were up by 11 points – 50:39, and it seemed that they would win this match without any problems. But Cibona had some different plans. The home team made a surprising 19:7 run and even went in front before the start of the last period – 58:57. In the final 10 minutes, Damir Markota and Marko Ljubičić scored 4 three-pointers combined and led Cibona toward this huge win.
Man of the match: No, today Cibona did not have just one hero. They had TWO heroes! Damir Markota (23 pts, 5 rebs, 4/7 FG3) and Marko Ljubičić (22 pts, 7 ast, 3/5 FG3) were simply brilliant in this match and they deserve to share the MVP award.
