Codi Miller-McIntyre reinforced Cedevita Olimpija

The senior squad of Cedevita Olimpija is finally starting to get its final shape for the 2019/20 season. Codi Miller-McIntyre, who signed a one-year contract with the club of Stožice is the newest reinforcement of the squad of Dragons. The American player will be one of the playmakers at the point guard position in the squad of head coach Slaven Rimac.

After Miller-McIntyre spent four seasons at the elite North-American University Wake Forest, where he scored 1329 points and delivered 441 assists, Miller-McIntyre hasn’t been selected at the 2016 NBA Draft and he made the first professional basketball steps in Belgium at the squad of Lueven Bears. He finished the 2016/17 season as the leading scorer and passer of the Belgian National Championship.

Ahead of the 2017/18 season he moved to Parma, he started the 2018/19 season at first as a member of the NBA side Dallas Mavericks, but did not play in the strongest basketball league in the World. The Texas squad sent him to the D-League to the Texas Legends, for which he appeared eight times, averaging 10.6 points, 6.5 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

In November the same year he made a move to Russian side Zenit, for which he appeared eight times in the 7Days EuroCup and averaged 5.8 points, 5.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 22 minutes per game, while his average in the VTB United League was 23.8 minutes, 9.3 points, 5.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game in 26 appearances.

This summer, the 25-year old American played at the NBA Summer League for the Los Angeles Lakers. He made four appearances, averaging 24.5 minutes, 9.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6 assists per game. He was the top passer of the Lakers, second rebounder and fourth best scorer.

Codi Miller-McIntyre is already looking forward to the beginning of the season with his new team: “I wish to thank Cedevita Olimpija. I am looking forward to the beginning of the season. I believe that this season could be a special one, but there is a lot of work still to be done. Nothing will be easy. Our goals will be the highest possible, both in the domestic championship, ABA League and the 7Days EuroCup. But to achieve it all, a lot of work and practices will need to be done. I am really looking forward to the season’s beginning and to meet all of my new teammates.”

Codi Miller-McIntyre okrepil Cedevito Olimpijo na položaju organizatorja igre

Moštvo Cedevite Olimpije je na položaju organizatorja igre močnejše za Codija Millerja-McIntyreja, ki je z ljubljanskim klubom podpisal enoletno pogodbo.

Članska ekipa Cedevite Olimpije počasi dobiva končno podobo za tekmovalno sezono 2019/20. Najnovejša okrepitev v četi Zmajev je Codi Miller-McIntyre, ki je s klubom iz Stožic podpisal enoletno pogodbo, ameriški košarkar pa bo na položaju organizatorja igre eden izmed kreatorjev igre moštva glavnega trenerja Slavena Rimca.

Po tem, ko je Miller-McIntyre štiri leta preživel na elitni severnoameriški Univerzi Wake Forest, in v tem času skupno dosegel 1329 točk in podelil 441 asistenc, Miller-McIntyre leta 2016 ni bil izbran na naboru Lige NBA, istega leta pa je svoje prve profesionalne korake napravil v dresu belgijske ekipe Lueven Bears. Tekmovalno sezono 2016/17 je sklenil kot vodilni strelec in asistent belgijskega državnega prvenstva.

Pred začetkom sezone 2017/18 se je preselil k Parmi, sezono 2018/19 pa sprva začel kot član moštva Lige NBA Dallas Mavericks, a v najmočnejši ligi na svetu ni zaigral. Telički iz Teksasa so ga poslali v Razvojno Ligo NBA k ekipi Texas Legends, za katero je odigral osem tekem in v svojo statistiko dodal 10,6 točke, 6,5 podaje, 5,8 skokov in 1,9 pridobljene žoge na obračun.

Novembra istega leta se je preselil v ruski Zenit, za katerega je nastopil na osmih tekmah 7Days EuroCupa in v povprečju dosegal 5,8 točke, 5,6 podaje in 1,9 skoka v 22,0 minutah igre, v Ligi VTB pa je na parket stopil na 26 tekmah in v 23,8 minutah igre beležil 9,3 točke, 5,4 podaje in 3,2 skoke na tekmo.

Letos poleti smo imeli 25-letnega Američana priložnost spremljati na tekmah Poletne Lige NBA, nosil pa je dres Los Angeles Lakers. Zaigral je na štirih tekmah, v povprečju pa na parketu preživel 24,5 minute in dosegal 9,8 točke, temu pa je dodal še 6,3 skoke in 6,0 podaj na obračun. Bil je najboljši podajalec Jezernikov, drugi skakalec in četrti najboljši strelec.

Codi Miller-McIntyre se že veseli začetka sezone s svojim novim moštvom: "Želim se zahvaliti Cedeviti Olimpiji. Veselim se skorajšnjega začetka sezone. Menim, da to lahko postane prav posebna sezona, a pred nami je veliko dela. Nič ne bo enostavno. Naši cilji bodo kar najvišji tako v domačem prvenstvu, Ligi ABA ter Evropskem pokalu. Da pa bi vse to lahko dosegli, pa bo potrebnega veliko dela, treningov. Zelo se veselim začetka sezone in da končno spoznam vse soigralce."
