It's time for 2019 FIBA World Cup

Serbia and Montenegro will represent this region at the upcoming tournament.

It's time for the 2019 FIBA World Cup! The prestigious basketball tournament starts on Saturday, August 31 and it will last until September 15. There will be 32 teams in total at this tournament, while Serbia and Montenegro will be the two national teams to represent our region.

Serbia will start the competition in Group D, where they will play against Angola, Philippines and Italy, while Montenegro is placed in Group F, together with Greece, New Zealand and Brazil.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the second stage.

When the ABA League players are concerned, there will be 9 of them at the upcoming FIBA World Cup. 

Serbia: Marko Simonović (Cedevita Olimpija), Stefan Birčević (Partizan NIS)

Montenegro: Derek Needham (Mornar), Suad Šehović (Budućnost VOLI), Sead Šehović (Mornar), Nikola Ivanović (Budućnost VOLI), Petar Popović (Budućnost VOLI), Milko Bjelica (Mornar)

Senegal: Mouhammad Faye (Crvena zvezda mts)
