After six long years the Wolves have regained the national crown… But can they go one step further and become the best in the region?

2019/20 Cibona

Cibona have had another turbulent summer. Several players have left the team, several have arrived, but for the first time in many years the Zagreb giant has spent the summer months in a good mood. The reason is quite obvious. Whoever is following the regional basketball knows that Cibona have regained the national crown after six long years...

But the fans now want more, so the main question is - can the Wolves go one step further and become the best in the region?

The 2014 ABA League champions managed to keep some of the key members of the last season’s team. First of all, Ivan Velić has remained the team head coach and that was the first major win for the club management during the transfer period. Also, team captain Marin Rozić is still in the squad, as well as Krešimir Ljubičić, Josip Bilinovac, Ivan Novačić, Filip Bundović and one of the most talented players in the entire region Roko Prkačin.

When the newcomers are concerned, Cibona have signed six of them so far. They are: Mate Vucić (Bosco), Donatas Sabeckis (MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg), Marko Ramljak (Zrinjski), Shane Gibson (AEK Larnaca), Roberto Kovač (Lions de Genève) and Malcolm Jaleel Rhett (Indios de Mayaguez/ Rafael Barias).

This is quite an interesting roster, especially because most of the newcomers have never played in the regional league before and we are all eager to see them on the ABA League courts. With the help of their loyal fans, this new Cibona team might play an important role in the upcoming season.
