Season opener coming up in Belgrade
In the opening game of the ABA League season, Mega Bemax will be hosting Cedevita Olimpija at home in Belgrade’s Hala sportova Ranko Žeravica.

Story of the game: The big game is coming up on Friday night in Belgrade! The ABA League 2019/20 season opener will take place in legendary Hala sportova Ranko Žeravica, where young and ambitious Mega Bemax squad will be facing experienced ABA Super Cup finalists Cedevita Olimpija.
It will be a great opportunity to watch two completely different teams with different philosophies, but with similarly high ambitions, aiming for the battle for the Playoffs in the ABA League this season.
What about the current shape? Mega Bemax have been defeated in their ABA Super Cup Quarter-final clash against Super Cup winners Partizan NIS, while Cedevita Olimpija have reached the Final, only to be defeated by… Partizan NIS… in the final as well. The Ljubljana squad have later been defeated in the opening round of EuroCup. The two sides have played similarly well in the preseason, with Cedevita Olimpija winning 75% of their preseason games, while Mega Bemax have won 60%.
Match-up in focus: It will be interesting to watch two Marko Simonović’s playing one against another – not only because both of them play in the frontcourt and have the same names, but since one, younger, Marko Simonović has been playing for Petrol Olimpija last season and was loaned from Cedevita Olimpija to Mega Bemax this summer, while the other one, more experienced, has only just arrived to Ljubljana this summer. How will they do in the battle of one against another?
