Bashir Ahmed reinforced Zadar

The 26-year old Bashir Ahmed of New York started playing serious basketball at the St. John’s University, playing for Red Storm team under the guidance of renowned head coach Chris Mullin.

As one of the key players of his team in NCAA, he has drawn a lot of attention upon himself and many have started comparing him to the NBA player Lance Stephenson due to his game style.

After graduating at college in 2018, he signed up for the NBA Draft, but unsuccessfully. He moved to Europe and signed with Sigal of Priština. Last season he averaged 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in the FIBA Europe Cup.

The 201 cm tall player has signed with Zadar until the end of the season.

Bashir Ahmed novo pojačanje Zadra

Kao novo pojačanje Zadra potvrđeno je ime Bashira Ahmeda, koji će se pridružiti redovima Košarkaškog kluba Zadar.

26-godišnji Amerikanac rodom je iz New Yorka i prvu ozbiljniju košarkašku ulogu započeo je na tamošnjem sveučilištu St. John’s igrajući za njihovu momčad Red Storm i pod palicom priznatog trenera Chrisa Mullina.

Kao jedan od ključnih igrača svoje momčadi u jakoj NCAA ligi brzo je privukao pažnju na sebe, a mnogi su ga zbog stila igre počeli uspoređivati s NBA igračem, Lanceom Stephensonom.

Po završetku koledža 2018.-e, iste godine okušao se i na NBA draftu, ali neuspješno. Svoj košarkaški put stoga je nastavio u Europi, točnije kosovskoj Sigal Prištini. Predhodne sezone Bashir je u 6 upisanih nastupa u FIBA Europe Cupu pritom bilježio 9.7 poena, 5.5 skokova i 1.2 asista.

201 centimentar visoki i 95 kilograma težak američki igrač potpisao je ugovor s Zadrom do kraja sezone.
