INTERVIEW - Cvetković: “The most important thing against Zvezda will be to fight”

The name that marked the previous round of the competition is Aleksandar Cvetković, who put on a monstruous performance in Novo mesto against Krka and repeated the highest individual valuation of the season, previously achieved only by Nemanja Vranješ.
We had a chat with black and white point guard who shined this time around and he spoke for the official ABA League website about his performance, changes under the reign of new head coach, as well as the exciting finish of the season.

Partizan NIS achieved a very important victory in Novo mesto with certainly your best perfromance of the season. How did you feel during the game.
„This was an important victory for us in a tough game - exactly the way we had expected it to be. We fought and never gave up on our goal. When speaking about self-confidence, of course it is pleasant for you when you play a good game, but it all came as a consequence of the effort of the whole team.”
You have achieved two straight victories in the ABA League following the arrival of new head coach. What did Aleksandar Džikić change in the game of Partizan NIS?
"Two triumphs are extremely valuable for us, but we will not satisfy us with only this. We are focused exclusively on every following game and there will be enough time for analysis.”
The coach has returned you into the starting five. How important is this for your self-confidence?
"I believe that with effort at practices and with my attitude towards my obligations, I have deserved the trust of the head coach and my minutes on court. It is not that important whether you are placed in the starting five or not, but to warrant the trust with the help of your teammates and to do something good for the team.”
The battle to avoid relegation from the ABA League is as exciting as it has never been before. What will be crucial in the forthcoming 6 rounds?
"The team that believes in itself the most will be in better position than the competition. The course of the championship has revealed that everyone can beat anyone. I believe that only nuances will decide in the end.”
In the next round, Paritzan NIS will play the eternal derby against Crvena zvezda Telekom. What do you expect from that game?
"The most important thing for us is to fight and to give our best from the beginning of the game until it"s end. We have to belive in ourselves both when we are playing well and when we are not. I expect that every one of us, when we enter the locker room after 40 minutes, can be able to say that he gave his best.”---------------------

Partizn NIS nastavlja svoj povratak sa dna tabele ka gornjoj polovini nakon dolaska novog trenera Aleksandra Džikića, koji je još neporažen u ovoj sezoni ABA lige sa crno-belima. Ime koje je svakako obeležilo prethodno kolo takmičenja je Aleksandar Cvetković, koji je prikazao vrhunsku partiju u Novom mestu protiv Krke i ponovio najbolji individualni učinak sezone, prethodno postignut jedono od strane Nemanje Vranješa.
Razgovarali smo sa crno-belim plejmejkerom koji je zablistao ovoga puta i za zvanični sajt ABA lige pričao je o njegovoj partiji, promenama u timu nakon dolaska novog trenera, kao i o nikad interesantnijoj sezoni.

Partizan NIS je ostvario jako bitnu pobedu u Novom mestu, uz vašu definitivno najbolju partiju u ovoj sezoni. Kako ste se osećali tokom utakmice?
„Važna pobeda za nas u teškom meču kakav smo i očekivali. Odigrali smo borbenu utakmicu u kojoj ni jednog trenutka nismo odustajali od svog cilja. Na polju samopouzdanja, naravno da prija kada odigrate dobar meč, ali sve je to došlo kao posledica zalaganja cele ekipe."
Vezali ste dve pobede u ABA ligi nakon dolaska novog trenera. šta je to Aleksandar Džikić promenio u igri Partizana NIS?
„Dve pobede su jako važne za nas, ali ne nameravamo time da se zadovoljimo. Fokusirani smo isključivo na svaku narednu utakmicu, a za analize će biti vremena."
Trener vas je vratio u prvu postavu. Koliko vam to znači na polju samopouzdanja?
„Verujem da sam radom na treningu i odnosom prema obavezama zaslužio poverenje trenera i svoje minute na terenu. Nije toliko presudno da li se nalazite u startnoj petorci ili ne već da uz pomoć saigrača opravdate ukazanu šansu i donesete ekipi nešto dobro."
Borba za opstanak u ABA ligi je čini se uzbudljivija nego ikad. šta će biti presudno u preostalih 6. kola?
„Ona ekipa koja bude više verovala u sebe, biće u boljoj poziciji u odnosu na konkurente. Dosadašnji tok prvenstva je pokazao da svako svakoga može da pobedi. Verujem da će odlučivati nijanse."
Partizan NIS će u sledećem kolu odigrati veliki derbi protiv Crvene zvezde Telekom. Kakva su vaša očekivanja?
„Najvažnije je da se borimo i da pružimo svoj maksimum od početka do kraja utakmice. Moramo verovati u sebe i kada igramo dobro, ali i kada grešimo. Očekujem da će svako od nas, kada budemo ušli u svlačionicu posle 40 minuta moći da kaže da je dao sve od sebe."
