Story of the game: It's time! The 2016/17 ABA League Finals are about to start on Monday evening, with two top teams from the regular season fighting for the precious trophy.
Crvena zvezda mts vs. Cedevita.
The rules are quite simple. Whoever scores 3 wins will become the 2016/17 ABA League champion. Crvena zvezda mts will have a home court advantage, as they finished the regular season at the 1st place on the standings. Therefore the final series will start from Belgrade.
Every single game so far in the ABA League Playoffs has been played in front of packed stands, so expect another full house on Monday evening. The fans of Crvena zvezda mts will most probably fill Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall to the very last seat and you all know how big advantage will that be for the home team.
On the other side Cedevita will try to stay calm and score at least one away win in the opening two games of the finals. Because, if they do that they will take over the home court advantage in this series.
Crvena zvezda mts and Cedevita have already played two games so far in the 2016/17 season and Zvezda won both of them. It was 88:64 in Belgrade and 95:91 in Zagreb.
Crvena zvezda mts are the defending champions, while it is interesting to mention that these two teams faced each other last season in the semi-finals. Back then, Zvezda defeated Cedevita by 2-0 in wins and progressed to the finals.
Match-up in focus: Expect a true clash of the basketball titans down in the paint. On one side there will be Ognjen Kuzmić and Milko Bjelica (Crvena zvezda mts) while on the other will be Miro Bilan and Mirza Begić (Cedevita). Their duel may decide many things in this final series.
