2017/18 ABA League Regular Season, Round 3, Sunday, 8.10.2017:

PETROL OLIMPIJACRVENA ZVEZDA MTS

Where? Tivoli Hall, Ljubljana

When? 17:00

Story of the game: A big basketball night is coming up for Ljubljana, as the reigning champions are coming to town and the green and white will host them no place else, but in the legendary Tivoli Hall, where they have proven to be usually playing far better than usually. Last season, giants like Budućnost VOLI and Partizan NIS have fallen in Tivoli and Gašper Okorn and his squad are hoping that they would repeat the fairy-tale against the red and white as well.

By taking a look at the stats of the games that have been played so far, one gets the impression that this could be a true showdown of two fantastic offensive teams. While Petrol Olimpija are currently scoring 90 points per game in the ABA League, Crvena zvezda mts are only slighty behind them – with 89 points scored per game.

However, Zvezda are currently sharing the top position in the standings with Cedevita, thanks to their efficient defensive game, while Petrol Olimpija are currently sharing the 3rd place with 8 more teams, a win behind Zvezda. But… Sunday’s eventual win of the home side, could turn things around.

Both teams have all of the players ready for Sunday’s show, which indicates that this could definitely be a perfect night for the basketball fans.

Match-up in focus: Both teams have perhaps their greatest stars at the position of the power forward, as Devin Oliver will meet Pero Antić this time. Fans will have something to see in the battle of high-flying American, against the experienced former NBA star. Do not miss this match-up!

Head to head in regional league: In total 14:19; in Ljubljana 8:8.
