Krka turned on its engines

There have been some changes in the Novo mesto squad and before the first practice the players and the coaching staff have been greeted by club’s President Andraž Šuštarič and Jure Balažić, who has concluded his playing career and became the new General Manager.

The players that have gathered at the first practice were team’s captain Luka Lapornik, Nejc Barič, Jan Kosi, Jure Škifić, Adin Vrabac, Jan Rebec, Miha Škedelj, Martin Jarc Jančar, Luka Medved and Leon Stergar, while Jakov Stipaničev will spend the next season on a loan at Zlatorog Laško, where he will get the proper playing time, necessary for his development.

The new captain of the green and white stated at the beginning of the preseason period: “We all have eagerly awaited for the preseason’s beginning and we are coming to the training camp with rested heads and bodies. The competition break has been long due to the circumstances. It’s a great honour for me to be the captain of the team. I hope that I can warrant the trust of the head coach and my team. We have a brand new team, that will need the time to get to know each other. But as far as I know my players, they are good guys and there will not be any problems.”

In the coming days Americans Jairus Lyles and Rod Camphor will join the team.

Head coach Vladimir Anzulović will be assisted by assistant coaches Dalibor Damjanović and Matic Šiška. In the ABA League Krka will play the first round on the road against Cedevita Olimpija.

Začetek priprav novomeške Krke

S pripravami je začela članska ekipa Krke, ki bo tudi v novi sezoni nastopala v regionalni Ligi ABA.

Moštvo je doživelo nekaj sprememb, uvodoma sta na prvem treningu igralce in strokovni štab pozdravila predsednik kluba Andraž Šuštarič in Jure Balažić, ki je sklenil športno pot in postal novi direktor.

Na prvem treningu so vadili novi kapetan moštva Luka Lapornik, Nejc Barič, Jan Kosi, Jure Škifić, Adin Vrabac, Jan Rebec, Miha Škedelj, Martin Jarc Jančar, Luka Medved, Leon Stergar, Jakov Stipaničev pa je posojen v Zlatorog Laško, kjer bo dobil potrebno minutažo za svoj razvoj.

Novi kapetan zeleno-belih je ob začetku pripravljalnega obdobja dejal: „Vsi smo komaj čakali začetek priprav, kamor prihajamo spočite glave in telesa. Tekmovalni premor je bil zaradi nastalih razmer dolg. V veliko čast mi je, ker bom kapetan moštva. Upam, da bom upravičil zaupanje trenerja in ekipe. Imamo praktično novo ekipo, ki bo rabila čas, da se uigra in spozna. A kot poznam vse igralci, ki so vsi dobri fantje, ne bo težav.“

V prihodnjih dneh se bosta zasedbi pridružila še Američana Jairus Lyles in Rod Camphor.

Trenerju Vladimirju Anzuloviću bosta pri delu pomagala Dalibor Damjanovič in Matic Šiška. V Ligi ABA bo Krka uvodoma v 1. kolu gostovala v Ljubljani pri Cedeviti Olimpiji.
