ABA League Qualifiers, Round 3, Thursday, 20 May 2021:

SPLIT - SPARS

Where? Split Sports Hall

When? 18:30

Story of the game: In the decisive Game 3 of the ABA League Qualifiers, Split are about to host Spars in the Split Sports Hall.

Lot’s of questions are open ahead of the third encounter of the 13th squad of the ABA League and the 2nd squad of the ABA League 2, but only one thing is certain – no matter what, the team that wins this game, will play in the ABA League in the 2021/22 season.

In Game 1, Spars have managed to upset Split on their home court in Gripe, making a break in the series, only for us to see Split bounce back in the Game 2 on the road in Sarajevo and won by no less than 20 points of margin. It could not get any more exciting and the Game 3 will be the one, where we will get the winner of the series.

Match-up in focus: Ahead of the Game 1, we have expected a big contest between the two big men – Kenan Kamenjaš of Spars and Marin Marić of Split. As it turned out, Kamenjaš dominated in first clash, having 19 points an 6 rebounds on his record, while Marić had only 4 points and 9 rebounds in the end. Unsurprisingly, this fact helped Spars grab the win. However, Marić has been exceptional in game 2, as he led his Split to the win with a double double (16 points and 10 rebounds). Therefore, it is no exaggeration if one claims that the more successful of the two players in Game 3 could make the difference in the battle of the two squads to make it into the elite ABA League division for the next season. Who will it be?
