Presenting 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League teams: Mornar-Barsko zlato

Mornar-Barsko zlato are entering the 2023/24 season with many new faces in their roster.

Mornar-Barsko zlato have finished the last season at the 12^th place, with just 1 win more than the two last placed teams. Yes, the Bar troops have fulfilled the club’s main goal of avoiding relegation, but somehow it felt that this team could have done much more.

Maybe that is one of the reasons wht the club has decided to make plenty of changes in the roster over the summer.

Club legend Mihailo Pavićević is still the head coach of Mornar-Barsko zlato and he will continue to work on a project that he started back in 2017 when he returned to his hometown.

Pavićević will have just 4 players from the last season still in the roster, including Nemanja Vranješ, Marko Kovačević, Milija Miković and Lazar Radetić.

All the other members of the first team are the newcomers.

Mornar-Barsko zlato have so far acquired 8 new players. Some of them are well-familiar faces in Bar, like Tay Waller who is about to start his 3rd stint with Mornar-Barsko zlato, as well as Milić Starovlah who used to play for local rivals Budućnost VOLI and SC Derby.

The other 6 players who joined the team this summer are Jamal Johnson (Chattanooga Mocs), Dwight Murray Jr. (Rider Broncos), Makol Mawien (Chernomorets), Alex Gavrilović (Mons-Hainaut), Jacobi Boykins (Semt77 Jalovaspor) and Strahinja Jovanović (Trefl Sopot).

It is really hard to tell what we can expect from this squad in the upcoming season. Mornar-Barsko zlato has recently suffered a pretty heavy defeat in the 2023/24 FIBA Basketball Champions League Qualifiers, but that is definitely not the real picture of this new team.

The boys will be getting better each day and be quite sure that no one will have an easy job when playing in Bar.
