2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League Round 21, Sunday, 3 March 2024:

KRKA – MEGA MIS

Where? Leon Štukelj Sports Hall, Novo mesto

When? 17:00

Story of the game: In the opening game of the Sunday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule, Krka will be hosting Mega MIS at home in their Leon Štukelj Sports Hall in Novo mesto.

It’s a game of two squads, that currently have different goals on their minds, but both of them need to keep winning in order to accomplish them. While Krka are currently sharing the last place in the standings together with Mornar-Barsko zlato and need to keep winning in order to avoid the 14th spot, Mega MIS are currently on a 10:10 record, just on the edge of the Playoffs Zone, and winning is a must for them in order to keep their Top 8 dream alive.

Recenly, the two squads have been in a similar shape in the AdmiralBet ABA League. While Krka have won 1 of their last 5 games and lost their last 2, Mega MIS have won 2 of their last 5 and returned to the winning track in Round 20.

What keeps Krka’s hopes up is not only the fact that they have prevailed over Mega MIS on the road in Belgrade the first time the two squads met this season (72:77), but that they also own a positive record against Mega MIS when playing in Leon Štukelj Sports Hall, as they have won 5 times out of 8 played in total in Novo mesto against the Belgrade side.

Can they do it again, or will Mega MIS prevail this time? Tune in on Sunday night to find out!

Match-up in focus: Perhaps when searching for the most exciting head to head battle in this game, we should focus our attention on the one between Jan Špan and Stefan Miljenović. While Špan is currently the top scorer and passer of Krka, averaging 11.3 points and 6.5 assists per game for the Novo mesto side, Miljenović has been averaging 10.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for Mega MIS as the team’s third leading scorer, but the one, whose importance has grown significantly ever since Nikola Topić left the squad.

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 7:10, In Novo mesto 5:3.
