2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League Round 24, Saturday, 23 March 2024:

IGOKEA M:TEL - KRKA

Where? Laktaši Sports Hall, Laktaši

When? 19:00

Story of the game: The two teams with the long ongoing losing streaks are about to face other this Saturday evening.

It’s Igokea m:tel vs. Krka.

Both sides are a 5-game losing streak ahead of the Saturday’s clash and each of them needs to break that awful streak as soon as possible in order to fulfill their season goals.

Igokea m:tel are in danger of staying without the Playoffs ticket as they are currently sitting at the 9th place on the standings, but with the same overall score as 8th placed Split and 7th placed SC Derby. Therefore, a win in the following game might put them back in the Top 8 zone.

On the other side, Krka are now all alone at the last place on the standings, with 1 win less than 13th placed Mornar-Barsko zlato. Krka have a better head-to-head score against Mornar-Barsko zlato, which means that they will avoid a direct relegation if they manage to at least tie with the Bar team until the end of the regular season and that is why every next game is like a Final for the Novo mesto team.

Match-up in focus: Igokea m:tel’s new point guard Goran Filipović has been playing quite good since joining the Laktaši squad as he recorded double digits in points in 2 out of 3 games so far.

At the same time, Krka’s point guard Jan Špan is the team’s top scorer in the 2023/24 season with 11.8 points per game, while he recorded double digits in points in 4 out of the last 6 games.

Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 14:7; In Laktaši 8:2.
