Game recap: In the Round 8 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season, Budućnost VOLI have prevailed over Borac Mozzart on the road in Čačak and will hold at leas the second place in the standings when the Round 8 is over. The Podgorica side are now on a 7:1 record, having only suffered a home defeat against Crvena zvezda Meridianbet so far. On the other hand, Borac Mozzart continue their regional league season on a 3:5 record and they will be placed just on the bottom edge of the Playoffs Zone after 8 rounds played.

Key moments: With a second to go in the first quarter, Budućnost VOLI were in front by only 2 points (20:22), but that’s when Fletcher Magee put on his sharp-shooting show. First, he scored a buzzer-beating three-pointer to end the quarter with a score of 22:25, but did not stop there and added another three-pointer and another 2-point jump shot to score 8 consecutive points, that made Budućnost VOLI’s 8:0 run, which put his team up with the double-digit number of points for the first time in the game (20:30). Budućnost VOLI have went on to increase their advantage even further, to 19 points (34:53) later in that quarter.

The hosts did cut the gap to only 2 points midway through the third quarter in the 24th minute (54:56), and even took the lead late in the final period (77:76 in the 37th minute). However, Budućnost VOLI replied with two consecutive three-pointers by Rasheed Sulaimon and Fletcher Magee within a minute and puled away by 5 points again. (77:82).  As it turned out, Borac did not manage to get back in front anymore until the end of the game and these were the key moments of the clash in Borac Sports Hall.

Man of the match: Fletcher Magee has been shining all game long for his Budućnost VOLI this time, as he has not only been there for his team whenever it mattered the most, but he also led his team in scoring with 16 points (4/4 from beyond the arc), 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and a valuation of 15 on his record. He is our man of the match!

Can’t trick the stats: Since it has been a close encounter, there is no wonder that teams have been similar in most of the statistical categories. However, Borac Mozzart did have 14 turnovers and compared to 12 by Budućnost VOLI this might have turned the flow of the game their way.
