Game recap: In the opening game of the AdmiralBet ABA League Round 11, Dubai Basketball have prevailed over Zadar on the road in Krešimir Ćosić Arena in Zadar. This way, the AdmiralBet ABA League newcomers of Dubai have achieved their 8th win of the season and are on an 8:3 record after 11 rounds of the season, keeping their place amongst the Top Four. On the other side, Zadar are now on a 4:7 record, which keeps them in the bottom half of the standings, so they will have to keep on grinding in the forthcoming rounds in order to get closer to securing themselves a spot in the Playoffs Zone.
Key moments: Throughout the majority of the playing time, it has been Zadar, that has been ahead and midway through the third quarter, their advantage even crossed the 10-point mark (53:42). However, Dubai Basketball side did not give up back then and fought their way back into the game. By the end of the third quarter, they have cut the gap to only 2 points (53:51) and tied the game at 53:53 already a minute later. We’ve witnessed a tight contest ever since and with 3 and a half minutes to go in the game, Dubai were ahead by only a point (62:63). However, as it turned out, Zadar managed to add only one single point, from a free-point line, until the very end of the game, so Dubai finished the game with an 8:1 run, and these were in the end key moments of the game.
Man of the match: Awudu Abass was the key player of Dubai Basketball on their way to the win in the end, as he led the team in scoring with game-high 14 points, while adding 10 rebounds and 2 assists to his stats for the valuation of 21. He is our man of the match!
Can’t trick the stats: It has been a tight contest throughout the majority of the game and it reflects just fine in the statistics - the two squads have been tied in almost every single aspect of basketball game and this game could easily go either way in the end.
