In a thrilling finish, Kansai Helios edged out Podgorica Bemax in overtime, in the final match of the ABA League 2 Top 8 phase.
The hero of the home team was Jan Kosi who scored 4 consecutive points in the final 2 minutes of overtime to put his team in front by 91:87.
Before that, Podgorica Bemax made a huge comeback in the 4th quarter, winning that period by 27:17 to force overtime. The visitors even had a chance to win the match in the 4th quarter, but Balša Živanović missed a 3-point shot in the dying moments of the 4th period.
This was the last match for both sides in the 2024/25 NLB ABA league 2 campaign as neither Kansai Helios nor Podgorica Bemax managed to qualify for the semifinals.
Kansai Helios finished the Top 8 stage at the 3rd place in Group E with the overall score of 2-4, while Podgorica Bemax ended up at the last place in the group with the overall score of 1-5.
