PRESEASON: Cluj-Napoca, Bosna, Borac and SC Derby celebrate preseason victories

The preseason continued to deliver excitement as several AdmiralBet ABA League clubs stepped on court today in various prep games across Europe and the Middle East.

In a clash between two AdmiralBet ABA League sides, league newcomers U-BT Cluj-Napoca scored win by defeating Igokea m:tel 94:90. The Romanian side was led by Mitchell Creek, who scored 19 points, while Daron Russell added 17. On the other end, Igokea’s Breein Tyree kept up his strong preseason form with an impressive 25 points.

At the international tournament in Dubai, Bosna BH Telecom pulled off a remarkable upset by defeating European powerhouse CSKA Moscow 90:89. The game went down to the wire, with Tayler Persons emerging as the hero after scoring the decisive points in the final moments.

Also in Dubai, Dubai Basketball faced Besiktas GAIN Istanbul in a high-paced matchup. Despite falling short 89:97, there was a silver lining for the home crowd - Dzanan Musa made his return to the court. The star forward showed why he is such an important piece for Dubai, finishing as the team’s top scorer with 21 points.

Elsewhere, Borac Mozzart claimed a 87:74 win against Oradea. The highlight of the game was the performance of Aleksa Uskokovic, who rejoined the Čačak club this summer and immediately shined as the top scorer with 18 points.

Meanwhile, SC Derby picked up a preseason victory of their own, defeating Sutjeska Elektroprivreda 85:72.

In a high-profile clash, Partizan Mozzart Bet faced Maccabi Tel Aviv and ultimately fell 96:103. Head coach Željko Obradović used the opportunity to give significant playing time to the club’s young prospects, gaining valuable experience against one of Europe’s top teams despite the defeat.
