Game Recap: Partizan Mozzart Bet opened their AdmiralBet ABA League Group A campaign with a hard-fought 84:78 victory over Krka in Belgrade. Although the reigning champions held control for most of the game, the visitors from Novo Mesto made them work until the final buzzer. In front of more than 8,000 fans at the Belgrade Arena, the night also marked the highly anticipated debut of Finnish forward Mika Murinen, who energized the crowd with several impressive plays.
Partizan Mozzart Bet started strong, building an early double-digit lead and holding a comfortable 42:28 advantage at halftime. However, Krka mounted an impressive comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the hosts 31:19 to tie the game at 61:61 early in the final period. The defending champions then regrouped defensively and managed to close out the contest in the final minutes.
Key Moments: The turning point came midway through the fourth quarter after Krka had completed their comeback to level the score. Head coach Željko Obradović called a timeout to reset his team’s defense, and the response was immediate. Partizan Mozzart Bet tightened up on the defensive end, forcing several crucial stops and converting those into transition baskets.
Man of the Match: Vanja Marinković led the way for Partizan Mozzart Bet with a composed and efficient performance. The Serbian guard finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal, providing leadership on both ends of the court when his team needed it most. Marinković’s ability to deliver timely baskets and maintain composure in critical moments proved essential in securing the victory.
Can’t Trick the Stats: One of the decisive factors in the game was second-chance scoring. Partizan Mozzart Bet made better use of their opportunities on the offensive glass, finishing with 10 second-chance points — six more than Krka. The hosts also held a 9–5 edge in offensive rebounds, reflecting their effort and physical presence inside. Those extra possessions ultimately played a key role in maintaining control during the tight final stretch and securing a winning start to the new AdmiralBet ABA League season.
