Game recap: On Saturday night, FMP have prevailed over Krka at home in their FMP Arena in Belgrade. FMP refuse to allow any team this season to triumph on their home court in FMP Arena. In their second home encounter this season, the squad, led from the bench by head coach Saša Nikitović, have prevailed over Krka. This way, FMP have now risen to a 3:2 record after 5 games played so far this season and stay firmly in the race for the Top 8. On the other hand, Krka keep waiting for their first win of the season following 6 straight defeats at the opening of the season and will need to step up their performances shall they wish to re-join the battle to include themselves into the Top 8 stage of the competition.
Key moments: FMP have been in front basically throughout the game. They were up by 4 points after the opening quarter and by 5 at halftime. However, the key moments arrived when the second half commenced. They went on a 21:4 run in the opening nine minutes of the third quarter, that handed them a 20-point lead (64:44). As it turned out later in the game, Krka just did not manage to endanger the lead of the Panthers anymore until the end.
Man of the match: Filip Barna has been the key to FMP’s excellent performance, as he led them to the convincing win with 22 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and a valuation of 30 on his record. He is our man of the match!
Can’t trick the stats: The Panthers dominated the paint. They had 35 rebounds and Krka only 26. That’s what turned the flow of the game their way decisively
